Our Story

In Memory of
Carla Mellace

Lala's Wings was founded to honor the extraordinary life and spirit of Carla Mellace — known lovingly as "Lala." Carla's strength, her boundless love, and her unwavering faith left a permanent mark on everyone she touched.


She was deeply passionate about those who were overlooked and underserved — from cancer patients fighting for their dignity, to foster children who deserved to feel celebrated. Her legacy lives on through every life this organization touches.

Each program is rooted in Carla's passions and the belief that every person deserves to feel seen, supported, and loved.

Lala's Wings Wig Assistance Program

We provide free wigs to patients experiencing hair loss as a result of cancer treatment. Hair loss can affect a patient's confidence and sense of self during an already grueling journey — we're here to restore a little of both.

Primary Program

Holiday Gift Program for Foster Children

During the holiday season, Lala's Wings purchases Christmas gifts for foster children in our community. Carla was deeply passionate about these underserved children, and we carry that love forward each holiday season to ensure every child feels celebrated.
